The two centres of Alliance Française de Shanghai (6th floor of Hongkou Centre and 2nd floor of Changning Centre) have both a Multimedia Learning Centre each offering 20 computers with multimedia teaching systems. Since its opening in 2007, the Multimedia Learning Centre aims at providing quality learning resources and personalized follow-up for students. With its gradual development, the centre nows functions at the same time as:

- Language lab
- Self-learning center with the help of our tutors
- Large multimedia resources database

* Language Lab

From March 2009, Alliance Française de Shanghai launched the phonetic correction course for level 1 to 4 classes. In this course, students can practice their pronunciation and oral expression with increasing difficulty under the new phonetic software Speedlingua. Meanwhile, a tutor working at the centre will guide, correct and evaluate the student throughout the course.  Upon regular practice in the lab, remarkable progress can be made in pronunciation.

Speedlingua is based on and developed under scientific audio phonology principles. It is a step to step process from “open your ears” to “simultaneous pronunciation correction” and provides you with interesting, flexible and efficient way of rectifying your pronunciation. After a certain period of regular learning, the learners will be able to hear the sounds that have been ignored before and the clarity in their pronunciation can be greatly improved. While doing so, the learners will learn to take the initiative to use a more standard and elegant tone to pronounce and to talk.

When you are preparing for exams, trying to get back your forgotten French, or planning a trip in a French-speaking country, no matter if you are a student of Alliance Francaise or not, you can always find the best learning resources to meet your personal needs and to obtain the knowledge that cannot be learned at class.

Our specialities:
- One of the centre's tutor will arrange an interview with you to know clearly about your personal needs.
- The tutor will schedule your tutorial program according to the practical situation.
- You can focus on a particular aspect : listening, speaking, reading or writing, or you may start with several aspects at the same time but with increasing difficulty.
- From the beginning of the course, the tutor will follow your progress. Whenever you have a problem, you can get immediate help from the tutor.
- The tutor will also give you some suggestions on your learning methods, look for better learning resources for you and help you to learn French in a comprehensive and efficient way.

Since the establishment of the centre, the majority of the students receiving after-school personalized follow-up are very satisfied with the service.

Otherwise: 60RMB/hr, registration fee: 50RMB

In order to enrich classroom learning and to make it more interesting, on condition of making a reservation in advance, the teachers can bring their students to the Multimedia Learning Centre to have fun in doing multimedia exercises or to look for Internet resources. In this centre, the students will soon discover that learning foreign languages can be so lively and interesting.
