Teaching Materials

The AFS works frequently but not exclusively with the Festival and TAXI ! textbooks.

In addition, numerous resources and documents are available to our professors : songs, ads, films, newspapers, etc. These are particularly useful for students to come in contact with the reality of French culture and language in a complex and lively way.

Our Method

Textbook 1:  FESTIVAL (1,2,3)

Festival, specially made for non western language speaking learners, is a manual composed of 3 levels of 180 hours each.

- Festival 1 corresponds to level 1 & level 2 of Alliance Française de Shanghai and covers level A1 of the Common European Framework of reference for languages.
- Festival 2 corresponds to level 3 & level 4 of Alliance Française de Shanghai and covers level A2 of the Common European Framework of reference for languages.
- Festival 3 corresponds to level 5 & level 6 of Alliance Française de Shanghai and covers level B1 of the Common European Framework of reference for languages.

Festival can help learners acquire efficiently basic French grammatical patterns and necessary vocabulary for most daily situations.

Textbook 2: TAXI! (1,2,3)

Book 1 of TAXI is divided into 2 levels, 180 hours in total, according to the A1 level defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

Book 2 of TAXI is divided into 2 levels, 180 hours in total (level A2 of the CEFR).

Book 3 of TAXI is also divided into 2 levels, 180 hours in total (level B1 of the CEFR).

How will you be evaluated?
