Antoine, Jin Ling, Olivier, M. Wu, Thierry, M. Dai... Our teaching staff, all trained to teach French as a second language, consisting of mostly native speakers and including more than 50 members on this day, is there to greet you a warm welcome! Here you are in the hands of rigorist and enthusiastic professionals who lead you all the way through your French learning.

Olivier Balon, particularly versatile, once teacher in Southern Pacific islands, is a music lover.
William Bascaule, thinks that teaching or learning a foreign language is a means to mingle entirely with another culture and to know who we are. One can open his mind to others as one discovers oneself. The classroom thus becomes a platform for international exchanges in which our differences become an enriching and fulfilling strength.
Thierry Berthommier, has years of teaching experience after obtaining his maîtrise FLE in Malasia, where he also performed weighty educational duties. As an active athlete, he has taken part in the Shanghai Marathon among other sport events.
François Carion comes from Belgium. Holder of a degree in Romanic Languages and Litterature, he taught Latin and French as a Second Language for a long time in Brussel before working in the United States and then at the Alliance française of Nanjing. Avid of discoveries, he has a true passion for languages, history, literature and jazz music. Like Terence once said, as he is human, he considers nothing human undifferent to him. He’s really glad to be in China and is really pleased to introduce people to his native language and culture.
Benoit Coze
Yunqin Dai, trained at l'AF-Paris, holder of a Pekin Foreign Language University degree, has been teacher in AF of Shanghai for more than 10 years.
From Bretagne, Anne-Laure Denoual has a Teaching French as a Foreign language master degree from Rennes University. She likes travelling, particularly in America and Brazil, in both of which she lived for a long time. She is in China since 2005. She likes teaching French and  French culture, through which she can also understand better Chinese people and their culture.
Antoine Dequennoy comes from Lille. Before coming to Shanghai, he worked in Japan and Korea, where he first learnt about Asia and where he learnt Japanese. His hobby is to discover the culinary speciality of all the countries he visits. He has been in Shanghai for 5 years and there are still a lot of culinary specialities of Shanghai for him to discover!
Curious and loving diversity, Julien Fang came to China to discover new horizons. He has been working in Alliance française since February 2007. He would like to be a singer at the beginning, but unfortunately, he broke the vocal cord and cannot realize his dream. He preserve still a strong voice and a passion for singing.

Fabrice Fröhlig comes from Moselle and is Franco-German. He has a master's degree in both applied linguistics and foreign languages (German – English) and in French Language Teaching. Before coming to Shanghai, he lived in Guangzhou for almost a year and a half and therefore speaks -and continues to learn- Mandarin. He loves China and especially likes Chinese pop music.
Marie Giraud-Claude-Lafontaine, teaching from 2008, comes from Bretagne. After several years working in Wuhan, Hubei,she is happy to work in Alliance Française de Shanghai. Enjoying more and more teaching, she likes also travelling, reading and chatting.

Thomas Godenir likes very much working in Shanghai, because he can always meet new people. He likes sport, indien music, korean and Sichuan cooking. He has travelled a lot in China and likes Haerbin and Qingdao.

Baorong Gong, originally from Shanghai, is a member of the Shanghai Academy of Theatre and a doctor at Universite Paris III. He is an expert in French and Chinese theatre.

Jin Ling is holder of a Shanghai Foreign Language University degree and also of a master in international economic law. She is a literature and sociology lover.
Le Liu, coming from Xi'an, she has a master in french language of Paris IV University. She likes cooking, travelling, and French. For her, learning a language is also discovering a different culture. She likes to share this pleasure with all the students in AFS.
Jing Liu, having a master FLE in Paris 8 University, comes from Jingzhou in Hubei Province. She likes to teach French and meet other French teachers. She likes also good food and cinema.
Liang Xin Qiao, Shanghainese of origin, has occupied high functions such as that of a diplomat. He has been teaching at AFS for over 10 years.

Alain Rohmer has been working at Af Shanghai since 1997. He worked as teacher in Hong kong and Taiwan before. He is also a infographiste.

Marie Wang hui, master of Poitiers University, taught French at Af of canton for 3 years. She has been teaching French and civilization in AF Shanghai for 5 years. She is a teacher with lot of reputation because of her patience, responsability and her attractive way of teaching. When she’s not working, she likes travelling and reading.
Claudine Wang, a SISU French language and literature degree holder, she is fond of contemporary literature and Fine Arts.
Peijie Wu is born in Shanghai, French native speaker, holder of FLE teaching degree from Bruxelles.
Yan Ping Wu, a French and English teacher, has published a large number of articles for the magazine « Studying French.
Zhenqin Wu, from Shanghai, has an educational background in the medical field and in French. He has published several books and French-Chinese medical dictionaries.
 Zhu Yi Wu, wuhanese, master on FLE, she has a passion in teaching French.

Holder of a double Master degree of FLE and Management, Léa (Hongyan) LI endeavours in new teaching technology and multimedia. She is the person in charge of AFS's Self-Learning Centre.

Karine Sabourault, our story-teller and librarian, tells:

If I were a number, it would be 7000 : for it represents the quantity of books in media library and the length of the Great Wall. I would like to be a story because I am a storyteller, a story which began in September 2005 when I took charge of the Multi-media library of AFS. I would like to make all French culture lovers to discover the richness of French culture through films and books in the Multi-media library. I invite you to stroll around regularly amidst shelves.

Emilie Pan, Lyon-bound, having an aura of Parisian elegance, educated in the University of Science and Technology, she is the director assigned by the Hongkou Spare-time College.

Speaking Chinese and definitely a Chinese culture lover, Xavier Loustaunau studied Chinese and Chinese Literature and Civilisation in the Michel de Montaigne University in Bordeaux, and Social Sciences in Jussieu University in Paris. Having been school director in a few French language schools in France, he's now in Alliance française de Shanghai to help developping its three centres. Having considerable experience in the management and development in the field and a sound education in management from the Bordeaux School of Management, he actively engages himself with a humanist and pragmatical approach in the cultural and linguistic radiance of Alliance française de Shanghai whose reputation has made itself one of the most fantastic pearl of China.

Sébasiten Ruggiero arrived in Alliance française Shanghai in Septembre 2010, this is his seventh year's work in Af in Asia after Rangoun, from 2004 to 2008, and Xi'an, from 2008 to 2010. He cares a lot about students' professional future, that's why he trys his best to show that french language can be a true working language among French companies, even in an international environment.
